Valley Dental Pediatrics is the longest established and most eperienced Pediatric Dental practice in the region. Dr. Bigsby and Dr. Tunison are both Pediatric Dentists.They are specialists who provide comprehensive dental care to babies, children, adolescents, and persons with special needs. Their education is different from that of general dentists. After graduation from dental school,they were each admitted to a two year residency program in children's hospitals where they received extensive special training and exposure to pediatric oral health issues, including meeting the needs of persons with special needs. Their practice includes treatment of patients with complicated medical problems. Dr. Bigsby is on staff and has hospital privileges at Binghamton General Hospital which enables him to treat patients in a hospital setting when necessary. Dr. Bigsby and Dr. Tunison work closely with other healthcare professionals in related fields and specialities when treating their patients.

The support staff at Valley Dental Pediatrics which includes receptionists, hygienists, dental assistants, and office staff are all specially trained and educated and have extensive experience in working with children, adolescents and their families. We have developed a Special Infant Exam recommended by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentists and the American Academy of Pediatrics and enthusiastically encourage parents to have their baby examined by one of our dentists after the appearance of the first tooth or by their first birthday. It is important to diagnose any oral health issues at the earliest stage possible. A critical component of this exam involves discussing the importance of oral hygiene and proper nutrition with parents. We are experts in the prevention of dental disease.

In addition to all phases of routine dental care, Dr. Bigsby has extensive experience in orthodontic treatment of children and adolescents. We also are the home of the Teen Smile Makeover, custom designed for our adolescent patients.
